Establish receiver power and the television's selected HDMI input before testing Cast discovery. A sender can be correctly configured while the TV is showing another input or the receiver lacks its required power.

Why this happens
The local display path is separate from wireless discovery. No app login can correct an unpowered receiver or wrong television input.
Work through the steps
- Check Chromecast power using its supported adapter arrangement.
- Select the HDMI input to which it is connected.
- Inspect the screen for startup or error information.
- Once the receiver is ready, test discovery from a supported app.
What to avoid
Do not assume every TV USB port provides the required power. Keep the device ventilated and follow its model-specific power guidance.
Know what changed
The television should show the receiver's normal ready state. Only then assess whether the sender can find it and start a supported session.
