Review both the player's image-fit setting and the television's picture size. A zoom mode can remove subtitles or menus even when the stream itself is complete. Compare the same scene with a fit-to-screen presentation before changing Fire TV resolution.

Why this happens
Screen output mode, video aspect ratio and television overscan are separate adjustments. Raising the resolution does not restore text cropped by a zoom or stretch setting.
Work through the steps
- Pause on a scene with visible subtitles or edge text.
- Choose the player's fit or original-aspect option if offered.
- Review the television picture-size setting in its model guide.
- Confirm the Fire TV output remains compatible with the display.
What to avoid
Do not force unsupported HDR or resolution modes to correct a simple crop. Keep a note of the original picture settings so changes can be reversed.
Know what changed
Subtitles and controls should remain fully visible without stretching faces or circles. If only one programme is cropped, compare its source aspect ratio before altering every app.
