Test the television speakers before changing the subscription. If they work while the soundbar remains silent, the failure lies further along the audio route. Keep the same programme playing while reviewing Fire TV output, television sound output and the receiver or soundbar input.

Why this happens
Menu sounds and programme audio can use different formats. An HDMI switch or receiver adds another compatibility stage, so a working picture does not prove the entire audio path is correct.
Work through the steps
- Confirm the TV and soundbar are not muted.
- Select the intended soundbar input and TV sound output.
- Compare the same programme through the television speakers.
- Review Fire TV audio output and reconnect the HDMI chain as documented.
What to avoid
Avoid changing several surround-format settings at once. Keep volume modest when changing outputs, and do not assume a missing alternate audio track can be downloaded from the account.
Know what changed
The same programme should produce sound on the intended output. If another programme works but one remains silent, record the channel or title and available audio tracks for support.
