Being online does not guarantee that a sender can discover a television on the local network. Compare the sender and Google TV network names and check whether the app actually supports the intended Cast route.

Why this happens
Local discovery can be separated by guest-network isolation or a VPN path even when both devices can browse the internet.
Work through the steps
- Confirm the sender and television use the same local network.
- Open the Cast control in a compatible sender app.
- Compare discovery from another supported sender.
- Review guest-network or VPN isolation with the network owner.
What to avoid
Do not disable the entire router firewall as a discovery test. A working mirror session does not prove the player supports every native Cast stream.
Know what changed
The correct television should appear and accept a compatible session. If it appears but playback fails, investigate stream and sender compatibility rather than discovery alone.
