Use the operating system Restart command when a normal power-button press merely places the TV in standby. Resuming a sleeping app can preserve the state that caused the fault.
Why this happens
Standby and a software restart have different effects. The television displaying a picture again does not prove the app process or system was reloaded.
Work through the steps
- Save the player account recovery details.
- Open Settings > System > Restart.
- Wait for the normal startup process.
- Open the affected player before running other apps.
What to avoid
Do not unplug a device while a software update is applying. A restart should not be confused with a factory reset, which has a much larger impact.
Know what changed
The television should complete startup and the player should launch afresh. Record whether the problem returns immediately or only after a specific playback action.
