Keep the local playback result as a baseline, then test AirPlay discovery and playback separately. A programme playing on iPad proves local decoding works; it does not establish that the app and receiver can share that programme through AirPlay.

Why this happens
Local playback and AirPlay use different paths. Receiver compatibility, network discovery and app support can each affect the second path.
Work through the steps
- Play the programme on iPad and confirm sound and picture.
- Connect the iPad and receiver to the same Wi-Fi.
- Test AirPlay using a known supported app.
- Retry the player using its documented sharing control.
What to avoid
Guest networks can isolate devices. A screen-mirroring option is not a guarantee that all third-party video can be shared.
Know what changed
If AirPlay works elsewhere but fails only in this player, report that comparison to its publisher. If no app finds the receiver, investigate the receiver and network first.
