Test both the pointer and direction-pad controls offered by the app. A player can respond to one interaction style differently, and a pointer alone may hide an inaccessible button when using a conventional remote.

Why this happens
The remote hardware and app interface each control navigation behavior. Successful pointer selection does not prove that every screen has proper remote focus.
Work through the steps
- Open the player with the normal remote.
- Try direction-pad navigation through login and category screens.
- Compare pointer selection where the model supports it.
- Report the exact unreachable control and player version to its developer.
What to avoid
Do not install unidentified remote-control software or grant unrelated permissions as a workaround. Keep the supplied remote available for TV recovery controls.
Know what changed
Essential controls should be reachable with the intended remote method. Record whether failure occurs throughout the app or on a single screen.
