Use the player's documented maintenance action or package-specific guidance. Linux apps store cache and configuration in different locations; deleting a guessed hidden directory may erase account settings or affect another edition.

Why this happens
Temporary files and persistent preferences are separate categories. Package format can also change where the application stores them.
Work through the steps
- Identify the exact app and package format.
- Find its documented cache procedure.
- Back up the private account recovery route.
- Apply only the named temporary-cache action and reopen the app.
What to avoid
Do not run recursive deletion commands copied for another player. A directory containing credentials should not be included in public logs.
Know what changed
The account should remain configured after a cache-only operation. If setup disappears, restore it and establish what was removed before taking another storage action.
