Confirm which audio connection is intended and whether the television or receiver supports the selected format. Test the same programme through the simplest supported output before adjusting advanced audio settings.

Why this happens
HDMI and digital audio paths can have separate receiver requirements. One programme's audio track can also differ from another's.
Work through the steps
- Check mute, volume and receiver input.
- Inspect the model-specific audio-output settings.
- Compare the same programme through television speakers where supported.
- Select a format documented for all connected equipment and retest.
What to avoid
Keep volume low during output changes. Do not assume every MAG model offers identical S/PDIF or passthrough controls.
Know what changed
The chosen output should play the same programme audibly. If only one source fails, record its available audio tracks before changing the box-wide configuration again.
