Use a Roku-compatible app from a verified listing. Roku does not install Android APKs, so an Android download link or Downloader number is not a Roku installation route.

Why this happens
Roku and Android use different application platforms. A working Android edition does not establish a Roku version of the same player.
Work through the steps
- Identify the exact Roku model.
- Find a verified Roku app listing.
- Confirm publisher identity and supported account formats.
- Install through the supported Roku route if available.
What to avoid
Do not enter developer codes or change device settings to force an unidentified APK onto Roku. Renaming the file does not make it compatible.
Know what changed
A supported Roku app should launch before service setup is tested. If the intended player has no compatible listing, select a verified supported option rather than retrying an APK.
