Samsung TV app fault survives turning the remote power off

Practical steps, clear explanations and a useful place to start.

Try the soft-reset procedure documented by Samsung when a player remains stuck after standby. A brief remote power-off can leave the TV's previous application state available when it wakes.

Why this happens

The remote power button can suspend the television rather than fully restarting it. Reopening an unchanged app state can reproduce the same fault.

Work through the steps

  1. Close the player if possible.
  2. Turn the television off and disconnect power for 30 seconds.
  3. Reconnect it and let normal startup complete.
  4. Launch the affected player and repeat the original action.

What to avoid

Do not interrupt a television firmware update. Reset Smart Hub and factory reset are broader operations and should not be treated as equivalent to a soft reset.

Know what changed

The app should launch from its initial state after startup. Note whether the error remains at launch or appears only after opening particular content.
