Installation and app source

Open Apps and Google Play Store from the Android TV home screen, then search for the player. Select the TV edition offered for that device.

Android TV and uncertified generic Android boxes are different. Hardware decoding, store certification and software maintenance depend on the model.

Enter your own account

Test direction-pad focus and Back navigation. A phone-only Android interface may install yet remain unusable with a television remote.

Choose the login mode the player actually supports. Enter the server, username and password in their respective fields, or use the private playlist URL if that is what the app requests. A player licence remains separate from the source account.

Network and everyday playback

Inspect the TV network connection. When supported, compare Ethernet with Wi-Fi using the same player and source.

Review display output against the TV or box manual. Source resolution, HDMI output and panel resolution are separate properties.

Check player track selection and television sound output separately. External receivers add another audio-format and HDMI stage.

Maintenance without losing your setup

Use the TV or box restart command documented by its manufacturer. Standby does not necessarily restart the operating system.

Open My Apps in the TV Play Store for player updates. System firmware comes through the TV or box manufacturer.

Use the selected player app-information page for a Clear cache option if available. Save setup details before Clear data or reinstall actions.

If the problem remains

Record the device model, operating system, app name and version, exact error and local time of the failure. Say whether another programme works in the same app. That comparison helps distinguish an individual source problem from a general device or account fault.
