Installation and app source

Choose an app with a tvOS listing. An iPhone player name does not establish that an Apple TV edition exists.

App Store availability and features depend on hardware and country. No native HotPlayer tvOS listing was independently verified here.

Enter your own account

Use Siri Remote navigation and the player text-entry method. An iOS touch layout and a tvOS remote layout are separate interfaces.

Choose the login mode the player actually supports. Enter the server, username and password in their respective fields, or use the private playlist URL if that is what the app requests. A player licence remains separate from the source account.

Network and everyday playback

Confirm the box Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection. Leave a reliable network available while tvOS updates.

Use Settings > Video and Audio for the supported Format and Match Content options. Choices depend on hardware and display capabilities.

Inspect HDMI, audio output and supported audio format. Apple documents comparing a direct TV connection to isolate an HDMI switch or receiver.

Maintenance without losing your setup

Open Settings > System > Restart. Apple also documents disconnecting the box from power for five seconds when a normal restart is unavailable.

Use Settings > System > Software Updates > Update Software. Player updates are handled in the App Store or app-update settings.

tvOS has no universal per-app Clear Cache button. Close/reopen and restart before considering reinstalling a player.

If the problem remains

Record the device model, operating system, app name and version, exact error and local time of the failure. Say whether another programme works in the same app. That comparison helps distinguish an individual source problem from a general device or account fault.
