Installation and app source

Find the player in the current regional Roku Streaming Store. Roku uses its own apps rather than Android APK installation.

A logo does not prove a particular player is currently listed. App availability and functions depend on region and device.

Enter your own account

Use the direction pad and star/options control where available. Remote and voice functions vary by model.

Choose the login mode the player actually supports. Enter the server, username and password in their respective fields, or use the private playlist URL if that is what the app requests. A player licence remains separate from the source account.

Network and everyday playback

Confirm the Wi-Fi network and compare another device using it. Record any Roku network error code before changing settings.

Use the model display controls and television image settings. Player and Roku TV options are not always the same.

Check TV or receiver volume and any headphone listening mode. Compare another Roku app to isolate an app-specific problem.

Maintenance without losing your setup

On a player, use Settings > System > System restart; a Roku TV may place it under System > Power.

Use Settings > System > Software update > Check now. An app can also expose Check for updates from its options menu.

Do not promise unofficial remote-button sequences clear cache. Restart first, then consider removing and re-adding the app with account details retained.

If the problem remains

Record the device model, operating system, app name and version, exact error and local time of the failure. Say whether another programme works in the same app. That comparison helps distinguish an individual source problem from a general device or account fault.
