Installation and app source

Use a verified Windows build or Store listing. An Android APK is not a native Windows installer.

Codec and hardware-decoding support differ between players. Microsoft reports standard free Windows 10 support ended on 14 October 2025.

Enter your own account

Use mouse and keyboard; avoid exposing playlist URLs in screenshots or command history.

Choose the login mode the player actually supports. Enter the server, username and password in their respective fields, or use the private playlist URL if that is what the app requests. A player licence remains separate from the source account.

Network and everyday playback

Confirm the active Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection and compare another online app before changing account credentials.

Use display settings for the monitor and player settings for the image. Microsoft notes that different refresh rates across monitors can affect some playback.

Open Settings > System > Sound > Volume mixer to inspect app volume and output. App sound can use a different route from system sounds.

Maintenance without losing your setup

Close and reopen the player; restart Windows after saving work if the app remains unresponsive.

Use the player publisher or Microsoft Store for app updates and Windows Update for maintained system components.

Some apps expose Repair under Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Advanced options. Reset is different and can clear app state.

If the problem remains

Record the device model, operating system, app name and version, exact error and local time of the failure. Say whether another programme works in the same app. That comparison helps distinguish an individual source problem from a general device or account fault.
