Broadcast is the distribution of the same signal or data to an audience, and its technical meaning depends on context. Traditional radio or television broadcasting differs from a network's local broadcast packets. Describing a programme as a broadcast does not identify the particular internet transport used by a streaming app.

A practical example
A viewer may watch a live broadcast through an internet app that receives a unicast stream. The programme is live television, but the connection to that viewer can still work as individual requests over the internet rather than a shared radio signal.
A common misunderstanding
Keep programme distribution and network addressing separate. A broadcaster's name in a channel list does not reveal whether the app receives unicast, multicast or another form of delivery.
