Logo URL: Meaning & Practical Example

A clear definition, an everyday example and the mistake to avoid.

A logo URL points to an image used for a channel, programme, app or other catalogue item. A player may fetch that image separately from the playlist and media. A missing logo can therefore be an image-path, format or caching issue even when the corresponding channel continues to play normally.

A practical example

A channel's name and picture can remain in a list while its logo disappears after the image host changes an address. Updating the image reference or refreshing an image cache addresses a different problem from changing the actual stream.

A common misunderstanding

A familiar logo does not verify channel identity, programme rights or affiliation. Also avoid putting account tokens into image URLs that may be stored in logs or shared screenshots.
