A password is a secret used as part of authenticating access to an account or protected function. It should be kept private and distinguished from identifiers that a system merely displays. Different services can require different passwords, and a saved player configuration can continue containing a password even after it is no longer visible on the screen.

A practical example
A viewer receiving support can describe an error without sending a password in a public comment. When a private account check is needed, the support route should first be verified rather than trusting a message from an unfamiliar person claiming to help.
A common misunderstanding
Reusing a password across unrelated accounts increases the consequences of one compromise. Do not include passwords in public screenshots, shared playlist files or unredacted logs used to demonstrate a playback issue.
