A session is a period or context of interaction that a system tracks between a client and service. It can retain authentication or other state across multiple requests, depending on the design. A session's lifetime is separate from a subscription's overall term, and ending or refreshing a session does not automatically change purchased access.

A practical example
A customer can remain signed into a player while an individual playback request is opened and closed. Logging out may end stored authentication state, yet the subscription's expiry remains governed by its separate account terms and service records.
A common misunderstanding
Do not infer a subscription's remaining duration from whether an app currently looks logged in. Saved state can persist while permissions change, or a session can expire before the paid term ends.
