Wi-Fi provides wireless local networking between compatible devices and access points. It is the link between equipment and the local network, rather than the internet service itself. Distance, obstacles, competing transmissions, device capabilities and access-point placement can affect the connection, so a strong internet package does not guarantee a good wireless path to a television.

A practical example
A phone beside the router can achieve good results while a television behind a cabinet struggles in another room. Testing at the television's location examines a different wireless situation from testing the household internet connection near the access point.
A common misunderstanding
A Wi-Fi symbol only shows a network relationship, not reliable delivery from every media source. Keep wireless signal conditions separate from account access and wider internet connectivity during diagnosis.
