Subscription term

A subscription term is the period of access covered by a particular agreement or purchase. Its starting point, ending point and conditions depend on the service's actual terms. It is separate from player-app licensing, device installation and any automatic-renewal arrangement, so a duration label should be read with the applicable account and billing details.

Activation

Activation is the step that makes an account, licence or other entitlement ready for use under the relevant system's rules. Different products can have independent activation processes. Activating a player application does not automatically activate a content subscription, and paying for a subscription does not necessarily complete a separate player's registration or licence requirements.

Expiry date

An expiry date marks when a particular entitlement, account state or resource is scheduled to end. Its meaning depends on what is expiring: a service term, app licence, token or trial can each have separate dates. Time zone and renewal processing can also matter when interpreting the exact final access time shown by a system.

Renewal

Renewal extends or replaces access under the service's actual purchasing and account rules. It can be manual or part of a separately agreed recurring arrangement. The new period's start, existing account handling and any price changes need to be understood before purchase, because renewing is not always the same as creating an unrelated new account.

Recurring billing

Recurring billing is an arrangement in which charges repeat according to agreed terms rather than requiring a wholly separate manual purchase each time. Its schedule, amount, cancellation route and authorization depend on the specific offer. A long subscription term alone does not establish recurring billing, and cancellation of future charges can differ from ending current access.

Concurrent stream

A concurrent stream is a playback session running at the same time as another session under the relevant account or system's counting rules. It is different from the number of devices on which an app is installed. Services may count live viewing, recording or other activity differently, so the applicable limit needs to be stated for the actual plan.

Device registration

Device registration associates a device or app installation with an account, licence or service record under a particular system. It can use an identifier, key or other verification process. Registration is separate from local Wi-Fi connection and may be separate from active playback limits; a listed device is not automatically permission for another concurrent stream.

Trial window

A trial window is the defined period during which a trial entitlement can be used under its stated conditions. Its start, finish, scope and any payment or renewal arrangements must come from the actual offer. A player-app trial and a service trial can run independently, so their duration or access should not be combined by assumption.

Refund request

A refund request asks the responsible merchant or service to review returning a payment under the applicable agreement and rules. It is a request rather than automatic proof of eligibility or approval. Order identity, purchase timing, product type and the stated policy matter, and a player purchase may involve a different merchant from a streaming subscription.

Order reference

An order reference identifies a purchase or request within a merchant's records. It helps connect a support conversation with the correct transaction without requiring a full payment-card number. References are system-specific, and a player publisher, payment processor and service can each issue different identifiers for related but separate purchasing activities.
