A distributor role describes a business or management position that can sit between a service and other sellers, depending on the actual arrangement. Its rights are not universal. Credit transfers, sub-account creation, branding and support responsibilities must be explicitly supported and agreed, rather than inferred from the title printed on a marketing page.

A practical example
A business may request permission to manage several reseller accounts rather than individual viewing customers. The service needs to define which transfers, reporting and account controls are available, making the arrangement different from simply buying a larger ordinary subscription.
A common misunderstanding
Do not promise white labelling, unlimited sub-resellers or transfer capabilities from a role name alone. Document the actual permissions and commercial terms before presenting a distributor package to others.
